Sow In Famine

Genesis 26:1-4 – And there was a famine in the land, beside the first famine that was in the days of Abraham. And Isaac went unto Abimelech king of the Philistines unto Gerar. And the Lord appeared unto him, and said, Go not down into Egypt; dwell in the land which I shall tell thee of: Sojourn in this land, and I will be with thee, and will bless thee; for unto thee, and unto thy seed, I will give all these countries, and I will perform the oath which I sware unto Abraham thy father; And I will make thy seed to multiply as the stars of heaven, and will give unto thy seed all these countries; and in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed;

12-13 – Then Isaac sowed in that land, and received in the same year an hundredfold: and the Lord blessed him. 13 And the man waxed great, and went forward, and grew until he became very great:

Most Christians are in time of famine when it comes down to money. They won’t tell you because they think they’re doing good- paying bills on time and getting a little check every other week. But, see don’t let that little bit of money bluff you. Don’t let that little check every week bluff you not to sow. Because that little check is still not taking care of all of your needs. It is still controlling you because you can’t do everything you want or need to do.

See, your famine is bluffing you. You don’t have enough. You’ll never have enough until you get enough. Get enough of messing around with the little bit of money you do have and do what the Lord is telling you to do. You have to get to the point where you’ve had enough. Where you choose to jump in. I did it, and that is why I am in the position that I am in today. I jumped in the water and never turned back. I decided to trust God for my finances and I found out that His way was failure proof. And it works! Get out of the shallow water. God is not a man, that He should lie. If He said it, He will make it good. Trust Him.

Isaac sowed even though the land was in famine. And guess what, God still proved faithful. He not only received a hundredfold in that same year of famine, but the Lord blessed him and made him great!
