Who Art Thou, Lord?

And as he journeyed, he came near Damascus: and suddenly there shined round about him a light from heaven: And he fell to the earth, and heard a voice saying unto him, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me? And he said, Who art thou, Lord? And the Lord said, I am Jesus whom thou persecutest: it is hard for thee to kick against the pricks. – Acts 9:3-5

Paul asked the question of Jesus, “Who Are You, Lord?” Similarly, we need to be asking that very question of Jesus for ourselves. “But I already know who Jesus is,” someone said. When it comes to forming beliefs concerning God’s will for your financial well-being and prosperity, you must know Him not just as your Savior, but also as your Redeemer and Provider.

You must understand that He is a covenant-making and covenant-keeping God. You must see Him as El Shaddai, the God who is more than enough, and as Jehovah Jireh, the God who sees you and provides your every need.

Some Christians think if they read a few scriptures about prosperity that they’re all set — they’re ready to receive. But you have to know God in order to really be blessed by Him. Many know Him as their Savior from sin and hell, but they don’t know Him as their provider.
